Eric Soenens
As an executive coach and facilitator of change and transformation, I bring empathy, collaboration, authenticity, positivity, and humility to my work. I am often described as an energetic, open and warm community-builder, consistent with my Latin American roots. I draw on this to create inclusive environments where people feel empowered to speak up, connect, and collaborate effectively. I firmly believe in the power of servant leadership to foster such cultures.
I have over 15 years of experience in various HR roles, including executive recruitment, talent management, change management, transformation management, and Head of HR (HR Director) within large corporate environments. Here I have developed and applied my skills in coaching, facilitation, conflict management, talent assessment and development, and organizational design. I excel at the intersection of business, people, and change, driving purposeful work and meaningful transformations.
Inspired by an executive development program at INSEAD (Leadership Transitions) and after a life-changing 10-day Buddhist silent meditation retreat (Vipassana), I decided to reorient my career: my purpose to be in service of others — be it individuals, teams, or organizations. I help them overcome challenges, learn from them, and emerge stronger. I see myself as a catalyst for change and transformation, unlocking potential and holding others accountable for their growth and development.
I am genuinely curious about people and how they work, with a keen interest in organizational psychology, team dynamics, and reframing mindsets and behaviors. My interests include health and well-being, endurance sports, creative storytelling, and outgoing / connecting experiences, whilst being grounded in Buddhist philosophy. I am originally from Peru, have lived in The Netherlands for over 18 years, am happily married, and am the proud father of two fantastic boys.
